Well we have made it home.
I have gone from the longest (cool) days
to the shortest coldest days
and the longest nights.
Now I just need to "sleep through".
We have gone from lush green
to bare branches.
We are on our way.
The mountain climber LOVES trains. We are on a Virgin Pendolino390 class.
Our train was 30 minutes late into the station and wanted to make up the time. We had only a few minutes to board. It departed so quickly that some people not intending to go to London found themselves on the way!
Generally, though, a very relaxing way to travel.
But still having a great time,
We were in the shopping area this afternoon and heard this group busking.
They were amazing, like real Celtic wild men.
Stay tuned: when I get home I will try to post a video I took on my phone.
The drumming really had my heart racing.....and then they took off their shirts!
I bought the CD ( Clanadonia )
How about this defacement of public property or is it street-art?
And tonight the Mountain-climber ticked something else on his list.....
a curry in Glasgow. Fantastic.
Whoops. Forgot to photograph the food!
where I am? The Outer Hebrides
(islands to the north west of scotland)
and they are amazing.
The landscape is like nothing I have ever seen before.
There are almost no trees
only rocks and sheep.
Rocks is an understatement!
The colours here are beautiful. So are the many tweed fabrics. I just can't make up my mind.
We have one more flight with very tight weight restrictions and I have no weight to spare.
Maybe I will leave behind my walking boots. They hurt anyway.
on scenery. It is just fantastic here....
Oh I want to make something
It's the shortest night tonight. There's hippies all over the place sleeping out at these standing stones. Not sure what they are waiting for...
