How big should I go?

Each block, a set of four, measures 10 1/2".
Meanwhile

I need to do a bit more unpicking and washing.

How often

do you unpick?

rethink?

change your mind?

when dark blue isn't dark enough?

go back to the stash?

go back to the shops?

I have never done this before!

technique

Now I am perfecting my technique

and getting more efficient with my piecing every day

I made 2 today!

lots of cutting

Each block is made up of 4 smaller bocks

each with 13 pieces..

that's 52...

urge

I have long had the urge to make some quilts out of "solids".

And then I thought

why not 

combine that with my current thing and use some of my indigos?

I plan to do a block a day,
at least.

A closer look

Last week I did a workshop here called "Transforming Traditions"

The results are not so far removed from what I love doing:

darning!

The photos above show the front and back of an old piece of kimono fabric.

I like to remake the lovely old pieces into something useful

but for the time being I will stand back and admire my stitches.
