finishing off

I am very fond of these little pieces I started last year
so I thought I would try and mount them.
It's fiddly.
 I have marked needle holes
and then used an awl
to make the hole all the way through.

But I am waiting for someone to get home from work
to tie a knot!

And these are the last of my books.
These three are done with "japanese stab stitch"

These last two have exposed binding and soft covers.

I all now ready for a few holidays.
Well the notebooks are sorted anyway.

Grampians Texture

Did you notice I might have been away.
I have been doing my favourite thing.....

Not textiles really, but paper this time.
I spent the weekend making "feral" books.

Now I think I will do this slowly so you don't get overloaded.
We drove to Halls Gap
which is about 1 1/2 hours west of here,
3 hours west of Melbourne.

It felt like I was walking in  a McCubbin painting.

I would wake in the morning to the sound of kookaburras
and kangaroos grazing out side my window.
How amazing is that!!

It
walked to class each morning past the wildlife....

 Check out these two?

I am glad I am nowhere that right hook!

And my book.
Rather upstaged by the wild life.

Spread out

I love this part
where all the blocks are spread out.
How will it look?

Overall white but my favourite bits are the not-white.

Do you like the backing?
Ages ago some one talked about this range on their blog.
I bought it knowing one day I would need it.

My cat is quite the critic these days.

Stacking up

Is the snow still stacking up where you are?
My white blocks are stacking up.

I am looking forward to putting it together.

breathless

Last week I was reading a review of the latest Sinead O'Connor CD
and I wondered....
She must be touring.
Last time I went to her concert it was the BEST concert I had ever been to.
Sinead walked on to the stage, on time,
in black trackies and black t-shirt. The
she sang and sang and sang.
This time....
The mountain climber was away so I took myself.
Down to the City, 5 rows from the front

It was FANTASTIC!
Sometimes it was so loud I had to check my pulse.
In big stadiums you don't get that.
This time it was black t-shirt and black jeans,
No chit-chat just 1 1/2 of great music.

keep stitching

Is it called "stitching" If I do it on the sewing machine?

I have been stitching my Ice Age.

Today I was talking to a friend about the book
"Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy" .
There is so much stuff  on the internet.
I love searching quotes
like this one from that book.

Love it.
