Almost March

Sometimes it seems time passes so slowly and then all of a sudden it's gone!

Since Christmas I have been cutting lots and then sewing a bit everyday

until finally I basted this quilt a few days ago.

I must admit I wasn't overly thrilled with the quilt when I had finished the top.

Don't you hate that?

All that work and then an underwhelming result.

 

 

I like it better now I have started quilting.

I am using Wonderfil Spagetti thread.

I really like this thread: it's thicker that quilting thread but thinner that Perle

and it is mercerised so it slips through nicely.

What do you think of the colour choice (orange)?

Favourite colour

I don't have a favourite colour.

I do, however, like the effect when I make a quite in one or two colors.

In this case yellow and cream.

It's like a burst of sunshine: yellow.

Not that sunshine is in short supply downunder.

I am loving my lastest quilt!

All finished.

Just stitching

We are heading in to a few days of hot, hot, hot weather.

I am  talking 40ish.......
 Celsius...

 So I am going to slow it down 

and just stitch!

(Not much more to do on this one)

Home Alone

I've been home alone for the last few days!

What bliss.

So I started on a new quilt

all fabric from my stash, so far.

But how long does fabric have to be in the cupboard to qualify as "stash"?

Not sure which way will be "up" ....

AND

I finished this cardigan

except for the buttons.

The yarn is a sort of denim blue.

I added the pocket.

Red buttons?

(By the way, it is Summer here)

Now for the quilting....

 Shouldn't take me long

to quilt this.

Getting started is the hard bit....

Do you like the touch of yellow?

I don't do pinterest but was thrilled to discover this and this.

So I will have to hurry up so I can show the finished quilt!

We have had some beautiful sunny days just lately.

How long will it last?

This last picture is just too washed out.

I think there was too much sunshine to get good contrast.

I will have to try again.

 My Valentine picked these from our garden on Tuesday.

 I love yellow roses!

 Now I am inspired to do something QUICK in yellow!

 Here is something I did earlier. 

I was going to do a post on pin cushions but I don't really have enough.

Wave Goodbye

I feel a bit sad this afternoon.

I sold these quilts at my exhibition, A Pieceful Life, 

and today they went to their new home.
