Untitled

Is there anything in the house that causes more trouble than the computer?
Ours has been playing up for weeks and getting progressively worse.
Soooo annoying.
So it's back to Blogsy.
A couple of weeks ago I spent the whole week end sewing with the Begonias.
I started this quilt but wasn't too thrilled with my efforts.
The coloured power cords are a nice touch don't you think?
I decided to push on anyway.
Who want another UFO?

42 blocks later....
And now it's together but I haven't got anyone to hold it up.
Home Alone.

Maybe a better photo tomorrow.

Not much

Not much stitching to write about
Not much progress anyway.
Yesterday we had a nice walk in Melbourne,
through Carlton Gardens (south).
They are on the edge of the city centre.

It was a cool day but these old trees were beautiful.

And while I was away I did a bit of hand stitching....

I started making another indigo ball using paper piecing.

I cut out 20 paper triangles and 12 paper pentagons
and tacked the fabric over them.

 And then stitched...

 2 hemispheres,

then I removed the paper before the last few stitches

The filling I am using has come from one the old kimonos.
It was a layer of padding, for warmth I suppose.

Done (almost).

Do you rember last year when I went on that little holiday in Cornwall?
This looks a bit like it.
It rained and rained back then too.
But this time the rain was warm.
And I only walked for an hour or so here.
Training....

Don't you just love signs?
I'm thinking a quilt?

How far?

Melbourne to Noosa is over 1800 kilometers.
This week it was warmer in Melbourne than Noosa.
This week it rained more in Noosa than Melbourne.
Parents travelling with very small children on planes should NOT be allowed to wear noise-cancelling headphones.

It's a long time since I have been in a swimming pool though and it was lovely and warm!

Annie emailed me the other day to ask if  I had seen the sunset.
I suppose it was the same sun 'set' just a different horizon.

more solids

     .
This was a bit more fun in the scrap basket.

I love this free style kind of thing but I can't bring myself to cut up fabic and do it.
It has to be scraps don't you think?

solid fun

Remember my little stuff up back here
that left me with a whole lot of 1" scraps.
and I was saying how I couldn't waste them...

So I've made this....

Looks interesting from the back.
(Note to self for later project)

This is a test run for a much larger quilt I think.

And a bit of stitching....
