a week

I can't believe a whole week has gone by
without a word from me.
I have been catching up on sleep
and lots of other things.

I haven't even had much time to stitch.
(I keep falling asleep)
I worked on my latest piece while on the plane.
I love these colours.

Back home

Back home in my N'Orleans apartment that is.

Been out for dinner....

my mother used to say:

Least said, soonest mended.

Get the idea?

Then we went to a live venue.

I know, again!

This time it was Chicky Wah Wha.

Tonight was singer songwriter night.

This young woman, Albanie Falletta, was brilliant.

For the time being you will have to google her (she's there)

as I forget how to link things like that on blogsy.

And this great chap, Sam Doores.

Yep, youtube. He' s great.

Great venue, no crowd, taxis cheap to get home. Brilliant.

It just gets better and better

The further we go from the main strip

New Orleans just gets better.

Last night we had a great dinner out and then followed the waiters suggestion

and went looking for live jazz.

That's me

under the trumpet,

up close and personal.

It was soooo cool.

The band, the New Orleans Jazz Vipers, had about 7 musicians playing when we got there

but all the time new ones would turn up and join in for a while

and then another

and another.

Sooooo cool.....

New Orleans

We have made our way to New Orleans.

Whoa, what a place!

Now we have trams in Melbourne but the PTV could learn a lot from New Orleans.

They are in beautiful condition.

They run very frequently

AND

you can buy a ticket as you get on.

So user friendly.

If yo'all know someone in Melbourne transport could you send this on?

Yo'all been told.

Lucky we were in the tram for this,

I am sick of getting wet.

That's always a good idea.

And did I get hungry?
Yum local seafood.

My new best friend showed me how it's done:

A cracker

An oyster

Some ketchup

Some horseradish

Was there something else? I might have to edit this later....

It was delicious and they will make it up for you.

Then home down Bourbon St, once is enough.

Need a drought broken?

Not rained for a long time where you live?

Ask us over.

Austin, Texas is a lovely place

and it seems they were in need of rain.

Problem solved.

So we have been spending more time than usual indoors.

It's tough.

Next time I'm staying here (San Jose Hotel, SoCo)

And just in case you thought I have given up quilting

here is some inspiration.

These boots are made for walk in'

Yep, I'm in Texas.

One aisle multiplied by five....

Should I get some cowboy ( girl) boots?

Oh the stitching... And they are hand made.
