En plein air

I have been wanting to post a picture of this recent finish for about a week

but needed another pair of hands.

Yesterday when I tried the Mountain Climber was digging in the garden.

So I took the quilt to him.....

"Yes, yes, just hold this for a minute?"

See the green leaves in the background?

With only 2 days left before Winter those leaves just hang in there and are still green.

They are the last to leave and the first to arrive.

Like me at a party.

Oh yes and the back.

Those bits down the side date from a quilt about 20 years ago.

Hmm

Now my latest finish is all in one piece I am not so confident.....

It changes depending on how strong the light is.

I try to never rework a quilt,

not too much anyway,

as I like serendipitous nature of how things turn out.

Might just stare at this for a while....

Good ideas

You start with what you think might be a good idea

but the execution seems to take forever.

I decided to sew the half-square triangles into blocks of four

and placed them randomly.

So far, so good.....

All advice welcome

I have started on a new piece,
or pieces,
depending on how many variations I try.
May be in the long run I am working in a series.
Anyway I am using indigo fabric from japanese futon covers.
I have done this before if you care to cast back over my indigo links.

I have made a good start with tons of half square triangles
but I am not sure how to proceed.
Stay tuned.....

Stashed

It's always great when you finished a piece isn't it?

I like to have a few quilts in my stash, this one cot-sized.

And the back.....
