back in business
Isn't jetlag a terrible thing?
They say it is worse going West to East rather than the other way round.
Well that is the way it seems to me.
We arrived in London at lunchtime, had a big night out,
slept in and off we were in holiday mode.
Coming home it has taken me more than a week to sleep all night.
I thought, to start with, that's OK, I'll just get up and watch the cricket.
Lying awake for hours on end gave me time to think about all the things on my list....
I started this quilt in 2007 in a workshop with Lessa Seigele.
I only made one block.
Didn't like it then. I do now!
It seems I had cut out nearly all the pieces
and it was all neatly put away, pattern and all,
So....
I have finished four 17" blocks and I'm stuck.
Dark blue? Greenish blue?
Looks washed out with the green.
I think I have a plan but it will take a bit more sewing.

London
We are in London
and about to go home.
We are staying somewhere different,
not in the leafy, flower laden terraces we stayed at the beginning.
That was Camden, close to Kings Cross and lots of the action.
This time we are south of the Thames and east.
It's all hard edges here but thrilling don't you think?
I love the Shard. I would love to stay there.
Or maybe it is better to look from here.
To go up to the viewing tower is 25 pound
Or to go to the 52nd floor for a drink is a 30 pound minimum spend.
To look across from my hotel is free!

A quick look at.....
Since we finished the walk we hired a car but have hung around in the general area for a closer look.
On one of the days we headed up towards Middlesbrough but swerved east to visit the coastal towns.
I think my favourite is Staithes.
Once one of the largest fishing ports in England Staithes is nestled in a cove
and it only becomes visible as you descend the steep road.
There are resting points built into the walls.
Too many photos?
You decide which ones should be voted off then.
