Aujourd'hui

I had a mission today: lunch.

My husband harass sent a list of places he would like to go.

So I'm going ( he's not here!).

So lots of walking. I started by walking to the local market

and then through Parc de Belleville.

From here you can see all of Paris.

These mosaics look very Sue Spargo or Edrica Huws.

I'm thinking quilts.....

And lunch?

I arrived there early and it was so worth the walk: le Dauphin.

Wow!

What a day I had today.
Almost had too much fun to take photos.
I met up with a wonderful fellow- blogger and we walked and talked and talked and walked,
Had coffee, had lunch and shopped.
What a day!
But I only took a few photos...

This is "Ultramod", the most fantastic mercerie. It's very traditional,
has wonderful service and is a treasure trove
(but no website)

Oooh, I love gros grain.
Your change, Madame.

Lost

I have spent most of today lost.

Lost in Paris!

I've turned left instead of right,

taken a different exit

turned round and round,

and doubled back.

With no one to hold my hand I seem to have lost all sense of direction.

I got this right though.

And I found my way to my favourite gallery, the Pompidou Centre

and met a few old favourites.

Jackson Pollock

Mark Rothko

(Yes you guessed, I'm still thinking quilts)

I love the building and the view.....

Could the real Eiffel Tower please stand up?

Beauty fades

A couple of posts ago I showed my quilt I had just finished.
I have called it "beauty fades".
The fabric was from an old large piece of indigo.
It had been a Japanese futon cover that had a large area of fading on one side.
If you are in Melbourne in the next few weeks you can see it at
Follow me....

very soon

I am going on a trip very soon.
So I wanted to make a little thing for my little things....

It should tuck nicely into the corner of my suitcase.

What's in a name

I know I have said this before
but when you want to submit work to be exhibited
they ask "its" name.
So I need help...

This is the same quilt but the photos were taken at night

and in the daytime.
The fabric is from an old Japanese futon cover.
For a while I had used it as a curtain,
until I noticed  the side towards the sun was fading.
Discharge dyeing by the sun?

starz

It seems like ages since I have posted.
It's easy to get out of the habit
and feel like there is nothing to say.

This lovely little cot size quilt is in one piece now

and I love to admire the stack of quilts.

Have I done this quote?

Visit a friend.
A surprise visit is a great gift to a friend.
It shows you have been thinking of them.
It shows how much you value their friendship.
It will lift their spirits.
It will warm up your day.
