Playing around

I have been playing around trying to work out how to do this pattern.

It's from 

"The Quilter's Album of Blocks & Borders" by Jinny Beyer.

 There are no measurements or instructions, so

  I have been practising with paper.

See anything wrong?

There are supposed to be 2 different blocks not 2 piles exactly the same!

I think I have worked it out.

Now tell me there is a pattern using the trapezium shape!

I think this is called the 'Y-version' of tumbling blocks.

Now for the fabric.

Sometimes all I can do is to just keep stitching.

 

 Slowly, slowly

this will be done....

Here's a little tale..

Here'a a little story a lovely lady told me the other day....

At the boarding school she went to there was a sign by the appleS:

TAKE ONLY ONE, JESUS IS WATCHING!

Further down the counter there was a plate of bisciuts

where some one had made a little sign:

TAKE ALL YOU WANT 

JESUS IS WATCHING THE APPLES!

Still too too hot

I feel like I am on a long boring terrible trip.

Like one of those long long flights 

from here to Europe

but I am in the sauna!

I should count my blessings.

The power is still on.

We have plenty of water.

I have a bath of cold water (my idea of a pool)

so I can wade in it now and again.

We have airconditioning, in one room.

And I can sew!

I love making tea cosies out of these precious little pieces.

We are set for well over a week

of temperatures of

well over 30 degrees!

 Time for hand stitching I think.

Do you remember back here I had started this quilt.

Didn't go well so I started it again.

 

Not sure what the cat thinks!
