Well I have finished the quilt top.
I decided to opt for a smaller quilt (7 x 7 blocks, 7 1/2").
I have enough for 2 quilts.
The other decision I had to make was borders:
I don't do borders.
The photo below shows the first attempt but it seemed the wide border didn't work so I cut it down.
What do you think?
It's charming. I like the border cut down, and not all the same fabric.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. I don't do borders unless I can make them look like they are part of the quilt. I like to imagine that the quilts goes on forever. Your top looks just perfect and just right for a baby quilt. It is a glass of lemonade :)
ReplyDeleteLove that style of log cabin, I think I like the narrower border best. I agree that some quilts don't need a border but then you might have a bit of a binding dilemma.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt top finish! You picked out delightful fabrics for this and I guess no it's on to the quilting!
ReplyDeleteI too prefer the narrower border and like that you have used two fabrics. I often see other people using borders and like the results but they don't seem to come naturally to me.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing what you can do with a few leftover strips?
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous! So bright and cheery. Love the mismatched border and the size is good now!
